It’s commonly said that all beliefs are just different roads to the same place. The problem: Simple logic tells us that they can’t all be right; they contradict each other. You may think it’s not important to know what will happen after you die, because you believe that everything will work out just fine. After all, you’re a good person, right?
TAKE A TEST! Have you ever lied? Have you ever stolen something? Have you ever let your anger get the better of you? Have you ever entertained sexual thoughts for someone other than your spouse? Whether you accept it or not, there is one God and He holds you accountable for all of your thoughts and actions. Imagine yourself in a courtroom where you are found guilty of many serious crimes and sentenced to death. If the judge is truly good, all of your apologies, good deeds, and promises to do right in the future won’t justify him giving you a pardon. As you are led away to death row, a man enters the courtroom and explains that he will take your place and die instead of you, paying your penalty. That’s exactly what God did for YOU!
He became a man in the person of Jesus Christ, took your punishment on the cross, and demonstrated that He was no mere man by rising from the grave. If you turn away from your wrongdoing (repent), believe what Jesus did for you, and choose to embrace Him as your Master, He will give you a new heart, freedom, and eternal life! Every day, 150,000 people die. One day, it will be your turn and that heart of yours will stop. At that very moment you will find out if what you believed about the afterlife is true or not. Are you going to leave this to chance? If you are sincerely seeking the truth about life and death, check out www.19twenty.org and get in touch with us. We’d love to be able to talk with you. Being connected with a local church is an imperative of the Christian life.
