We’re so glad that you came to this section of the website. All of us here at Million Dollar Answers want nothing more than for you to share in the reality of personally knowing the God that created you. Many people don’t realize that we can know God as intimately as we know our friends and relatives—that we can know Him like our mom and dad. We hope that these basic truths will steer you towards a life-changing relationship with God.

1- Realize

Realize your need.

One thing that every single human has in common is the fact that we are imperfect. The word used for our spiritual imperfection is “sin”. Wow! Sin may sound like such a heavy word in our ears. But “sin” simply means, “to miss the mark.” God’s mark is perfection. God Himself is completely perfect. You and I, on the other hand, are not. In fact God is so perfect and righteous, He does not even allow sin into His presence. By His nature, God must judge sin. What is the judgment on sin? Bad news: Death—both the physical death that all humans face and a second spiritual death.

Recognize that Jesus took the judgment of your sin.

God, understanding your condition and loving you so much, provided the solution: He became a man in the person of Jesus—a perfect man who committed no sin. Because He was perfect, He could serve the punishment that was due to you. He willingly hung on this cross to bear the penalty for your sins. Because Jesus was God in the flesh, three days later He rose from the dead, defeating the power of sin and death.

Receive God’s forgiveness and gift of eternal life.

God’s gift is a free offer to you but it certainly did not come cheaply. It was very expensive! In fact, it was so expensive there is nothing you could ever do in your entire life to earn or purchase it. But you can receive by faith the gift of God’s forgiveness and eternal life. Religious systems lead us to an uncertainty about our standing before God because we never know if we have done enough to please God. Religion says that if we obey God He will love us. God, on the other hand, says that whatever we obey Him or not, He loves us and because Jesus’ death and resurrection, we can be sure of God’s forgiveness and can be accepted by Him. What a good news!

4- Repent

Repent: make an about-face and walk in the right direction.

A simple definition for this word repent is “to change your mind.” This means that you simply realize that you are going the wrong direction. Stop where you are. Make a 180-degree turn (π radians for you math-geeks), and go the right way. This may also mean that you need to change your mind about who you think God is. People today have often an incorrect view of God.  God has revealed Himself through Jesus and the Bible. Know this: God loves you and has an incredible plan for your life but you need to repent and turn to Him. To do so, you can ask Him to come in your life right now. Here an example of what you can tell Him:

“God, I know that I have sinned. I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me. I believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose from the dead.  I believe that when Jesus died on the cross, it was enough to pay for all my sin. I invite you Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward.”

Rejoice in your new reality!

You were created to know God. That is why God created you in the first place—to be in relationship with Him. When this happens, you come to terms with the reason for your existence!
